Job Description
Communications Director - Client Development Analytics and Personalization

You will be an integrator across the globe for this new capability, with a focus on helping the firm reach its goals.

Who You'll Work With
You will be based in our New York or Washington office, leading the analytics function, a team that is tasked with developing insights into client executives' interests and organizations' unique needs. You will also lead the campaigns function, a team responsible for crafting executive outreach journeys for function and sector groups across the world leveraging the firm's distinctive events and IP knowledge.
You will guide McKinsey's overall vision and strategy for personalized digitally-enabled relationship building while leading the capability globally, with two teams reporting directly to you and three teams reporting as stakeholders. You will coordinate heavily with practice leaders, communications leadership, our industries and business functions practice managers, client development hubs and McKinsey Technology & Digital to drive mass outreach.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will be responsible for building and operating our new firm personalization capability, enabling partners to build individualized relationships with senior executives across the globe by bringing coherence and cohesion to the end-to-end partner and client experience.
You will act as a business sponsor for three teams including the client insights team, the technology and digital team supporting personalization, and the executive contacts team supporting this capability by providing data and infrastructure to enable personalized outreach.
You'll establish and build this new department, working with internal stakeholders including the firm's global leadership team, the senior partner sponsoring the new capability, technology leadership, publishing and communications leadership, and the partnership more broadly. You'll guide the vision and strategy for the capability, bringing together technology, analytics and outreach processes to excite executives across the globe.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of digital marketing and communications experience preferably in B2B and professional services environment with a strong track record of performance and impact
  • High-performing, self-motivated and experienced VP or director equivalent
  • Experience with leveraging analytics packages and datasets to drive recommendations and decision making
  • Ability to quickly establish him-/herself as a trusted leader whose judgment, oversight and creativity are valued by leaders and team members
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to earn the respect of a broad group of leaders
  • Excellent people/team leadership and people development skills
  • High flexibility and strong ability to build consensus via non-hierarchical approach
  • Ability to adhere to the highest process standards and stand firm on decisions
