The Aireon system has the ability to enable a safer, more efficient and environmentally friendly aviation industry resulting in significant CO2 emission reductions. Numerous Air Navigation Service Providers have already signed on to receive Aireon's space-based ADS-B data, including NAV CANADA, Naviair, Enav, the Irish Aviation Authority, UK NATs and more.

Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

Job Overview:

The Project Manager will have an important role in supporting the management, scheduling, coordination, and organization of projects and programs for Aireon's space-based ADS-B surveillance system. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Program Management, the Project Manager will be involved with all phases of the project and program life cycle: Concept, Planning, Execution, and Transfer. Communication and adeptness at working with a variety of personalities and skillsets across multiple organizations and locations will also be a key part of this role.

The Project Manager will collaborate with Aireon engineers and project managers from Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) customers to help ensure the success of each project and program.

What You'll Do:

    Develop and maintain integrated plan to ensure timely monitoring of the program and project activities on a regular basis and recommend changes to enhance the program, as appropriate
  • Work closely with Aireon implementation engineering, system engineering, and operations teams to develop and execute multi-year projects and programs
  • Work with various stakeholders and functional leads to timely identify dependencies, issues, risks across projects
  • Coordinate and schedule project meetings including taking notes, actions and following up with participants
  • Support implementation engineering manager in the development of processes and procedures for the implementation team to ensure completion of milestones within specific budgets and schedules
  • Liaise with other project managers and partners to ensure the effective and efficient program delivery
  • Work closely with ANSPs on the deployment of service delivery points and providing guidance to operations.
  • Be responsive to all customer inquiries and requests
Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

Job Requirements:

  • Working experience with project management and product management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Confluence, etc.)
  • Experience with the development and management of project, program, and Integrated Master Schedules
  • Experience with Agile and traditional project scheduling and tracking processes
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills with ability to proactively build rapport among stakeholders
  • Able to succeed in high-pressure, fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and competitive environment
  • Working experience in Aviation or Aerospace industry a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management support role
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
