Job Description

We are adding to our property management accounting team.  We are a seeking a process and quality driven individual to lead our accounting team.  Your ability to lead and motivate a team; help them grow and develop within their roles; and align with our mission and core values is equally as important as your accounting experience and expertise. 

This position may also help support our CFO with our real estate development team as well with financial modeling needs.

Position Highlights:

  • Leadership
    1. Ensure staff produces quality and timely work product
    2. Provide training and development to staff
    3. Establish and maintain processes and procedures that are consistent among all accounting teammates throughout Horizon portfolio
  • Full cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties
    1. Prepare monthly financials
    2. Prepare journal entries
    3. Record resident information
    4. Reconciliation of bank statements
    5. Analysis of aging reports
    6. Prepare monthly delinquency reports
    7. Process security deposit reconciliations
    8. Assist with property budgets
    9. Process billbacks and miscellaneous costs
    10. Calculate and pay management fees and distribution
    11. Prepare work papers for audits
  • Corporate accounting
    1. Monthly Financial Statements
    2. Quarterly Reporting
    3. Coding of invoices
    4. Record and post deposits

Experience Required:

  • Property management accounting, preferred
  • 8 years of accounting
  • 5 years of leading and/or supervising teams
  • Skilled in excel
  • RealPage/OneSite, helpful
  • Database or property management
