Job Description
As the Assistant Loading Dock for TCMA at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, you will report directly to the Loading Dock Master for TCMA. The Loading Dock Assistant will assist in scheduling trucks to the loading dock. Filing, copying and faxing of important documents for companies that need access to the building to make deliveries and or pick ups; and maintain a daily list of vehicles that enter the building. Work with building security to ensure that vehicles making deliveries have been properly screened. Assist FPS and Secret Service with VIP's entering the building. Generate and distribute loading dock reports as directed. Maintain area by scheduling quarterly PM's cleaning of the docks and calling in work orders when needed, perform other duties as assigned by the Loading Dock Master.

Essential Functions: 

The duties listed below are intended only as illustration of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if work is similar, related or logical assignment.
  • Filing, copying and faxing of important documents for companies that need access to the building to make deliveries and or pick ups.
  • Assist with FedEx, UPS, DHL, and companies that are making direct deliveries to TCMA loading dock.
  • Periodically check each public loading dock (Ballroom, North Tower, and Food Court) and place work orders when needed.
  • Make sure that waste compactors are picked up, as well as frying oil from both Public and Federal Loading Dock.
  • Keep a log of all vehicles entering the building making deliveries or pick ups.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: 

Challenging position, requiring excellent oral/ written and interpersonal skills, must be able to operate with minimal supervision.
Must have a High School Diploma.
Basic computer skills working with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Must be able to perform general physical labor, which will include lifting up 50lbs and knowledge with shipping and receiving on a loading dock.
Must be able to work a flex schedule during major events and when needed.
Must be able to work in the U.S. for any employer or at least since November of 2016

Environment: 

Must perform duties under intense situations while maintaining a professional attitude.
Must have the ability to move about on foot throughout the building.
Interpersonal skills, and able to work well with others in a hospitality environment are a MUST
