Job Description
Department: Stewarding
Division: Food & Beverage

Job Requirements
  • Ability to read and speak the English language so as to fully comprehend job requests, caution notices and similar written materials.
  • Perform and maintain a high level of cleanliness to their respective work area.
  • Inform stewarding manager of work request needed for work areas.
  • Ability to transport heavy objects through a crowded room in a safe and professional manner.
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing up to 500 lbs.
  • Assume all other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Job Duties
  • Set up and ensure that all equipment necessary to execute the banquet functions are delivered to the function rooms in a timely fashion. If for some reason you cannot complete the set-up inform the stewarding management about what is missing to eliminate last minute running around.
  • Before delivering food to functions inventory to ensure all items are received, check for sauces, dips, breads and crackers.
  • Transport all food items from the kitchen to the function area in a timely manner. If for any reason the food is late let the stewarding management know so that we can make enquiries.
  • Breakdown all food and equipment (i.e. separate plates, glasses an silverware) before transporting to the dish machine. (During busy times we understand this cannot be done, but should be done during slow periods.)
  • Ensure that the function area is clean and organized during and after an event.
  • Make sure all equipment is pulled back from areas at the completion of each function. Clean and dry floors to avoid spills and falls.
  • Supervise staff members to consistently ensure that maximum work is completed by employees.
  • Give instructions on what needs to be done and how one should go about accomplishing the task.
  • Inform them not to leave function area without informing you or another supervisor.
  • Floor stewards should not leave until the function has ended, and all set ups are completed for the next day.( If for some reason you need to leave, please inform the stewarding management..
  • Make sure that all set ups are done, and that all clean equipment needs to be pulled back to the silver room.

Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with department rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the Stewarding Department. Employees who violate these rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment
