Summary The Content Specialist works as part of a team to support the development, implementation, and enhancement of ZERO TO THREE’s multi-disciplinary, competency-based professional development products and services for individuals and organizations. This position contributes to the content development of a range of professional development offerings, including training manuals, online learning content, and other written products. The Content Specialist also supports the collection and analysis of evaluation data, provides content research updates, contributes to presentation development, and responds to quick turn-around requests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Contribute to:
the development of research-based and evidence-informed program content and professional learning options
the development of presentations at state, regional, national, and international early childhood conferences and meetings
the department’s continuous quality assurance processes, including tracking, collection, and analysis of customer data
updates and/or revisions to professional development approaches and development processes based on analysis of research, systems, policies, and other pertinent factors
content support for the department’s Co-Directors and the Division’s Marketing team
the overall work of the PDWI Department and the Business Operations and Marketing Division
Stay current with relevant research, including adult and child development; professional learning approaches, methods, and effectiveness; and workforce development initiatives, systems, and policies to support development of products and services
Work collaboratively with other ZERO TO THREE content development teams across Program and Policy divisions
Travel as required for trainings, meetings, and conferences to represent ZERO TO THREE and the PDWI Department
Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient and effective content development and delivery
Skills and Experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in professional development and presentation design and development (across all learning modalities)
Strong operational knowledge and expertise related to: infant/toddler learning and development; adult learning and development
Familiarity with workforce policy, research and best/promising practice regarding professional development and early childhood workforce issues and systems
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively against timelines
Strong computer software skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; Access and Publisher a plus); knowledge of or experience with Articulate Storyline preferred
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education Bachelor’s degree in early childhood, adult development, or a related field
Physical Requirements While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is frequently required to use finger dexterity as well as sufficient hand dexterity to use a computer keyboard and be capable of reading a computer screen. Also may need to remain seated for long periods of time and have the ability to perform repetitive motions. Employee is frequently required to grasp objects, including a writing instrument, pull objects, and hear well enough to detect nuances and receive detailed information. The employee may be required to reach for objects, push objects, bend, squat, stand, or walk, and have the ability to communicate verbally. Frequently must be able to lift at least 30 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
Working Conditions The work conditions described here is representative of those an employee encounters while performing this job. The employee is expected to travel and will be exposed to outside environmental conditions during those times. The incumbent typically works indoors in a heated and air-conditioned office, with a mixture of natural, incandescent and fluorescent light with low to moderate noise levels.
