Making Change at Walmart (MCAW) is a campaign run by the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW) that seeks to change Walmart into a more responsible employer and improve the lives of Walmart workers. We believe Walmart can afford to do better and that change at Walmart would mean change for retail employees everywhere.
MCAW is looking to hire a paid intern for 6 months starting May 1st to shoot and produce professional quality videos and photographs while in the field. Internship will be based in Washington, D.C. but require travel with multiple weeks on the road.
DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shoot high quality professional photographs
Record quality video and sound at various events as directed
Edit and produce video and photo content as directed with a short turnaround time
Assist in the management of social media accounts - Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Tumblr, YouTube, etc.
Work closely with Communications Director
REQUIREMENTS + EQUIPMENT:
We will provide a Nikon D5300 24.2 MP CMOS Digital SR Camera (OR Cannon EOS 7D Mark II DSLR Camera) along with professional remote sound equipment, a PC laptop, and access to Creative Cloud Suite 2017, but you are open to you using your own equipment if you can provide it
Exceptional photography + videography skills are a must
Ability to create, publish, and participate in video production and editing in a fast-paced setting with quick turn around
Must be able to produce packaged videos + photographs in a timely manner
Advanced knowledge of Nikon D5300 24.2 MP CMOS Digital SR Camera or Cannon EOS 7D Mark II DSLR Camera
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud apps including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Media Encoder and After Effects
PC proficiency + strong skills in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PPT, Excel)
Must be extremely detail oriented with strong attention to follow-through
Must communicate effectively in both written + verbal form
Must be flexible in work functions + duties
Must have ability to manage multiple tasks + meet short deadlines
Must work well in team setting + have strong teamwork skills
Graphic design skills are a plus
WordPress skills are a plus
This is a 6 month paid internship starting May 1, 2017. Pay will be hourly with a minimum requirement of 30 hours per week and commensurate with experience.
