Company Overview
The mission of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is to enhance the competitiveness of manufacturers by shaping a legislative and regulatory environment conducive to U.S. economic growth and to increase understanding among policymakers, the media and the general public about the vital role of manufacturing to America’s economic future and living standards.

The NAM is the nation’s largest industrial trade association, representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector and in all 50 states. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the NAM has 10 additional offices across the country.

Careers at the NAM
Thank you for your interest in the NAM. If you are looking for challenging work with a prestigious organization, consider joining our staff. From our membership managers to our legislative representatives to our administrative staff, we repeatedly hear that “the NAM is a good place to work.” Career opportunities are available around the country, but most often arise in our Washington, D.C. headquarters, and in our membership office in Greenbelt, Md. Overall, the NAM employs approximately 160 people.

The New York Times called us “the nation’s chief business lobbying group.” We are ranked 10th on Fortune magazine’s list of Washington’s 25 most powerful lobbying groups, even though the NAM has the smallest staff and budget of any of the 25. Our members—14,000 small, medium and large companies and their subsidiaries—are politically active and, through the NAM, work directly with their senators and representatives. Together, our members and affiliated associations employ 18 million workers.

The NAM provides equal employment opportunity to all employees and applicants for employment in full compliance with all applicable laws, directives and regulations of federal, state and local governing bodies or agencies. No person shall be discriminated against in employment decisions because of race, religion, color, sex, national original, age, sexual orientation or mental/physical disability. The NAM will make a reasonable accommodation to applicants who require such in order to apply for any position.
