Pay for performance
 

At Springleaf Financial Services, our compensation philosophy is simple. We pay for performance. In addition to a competitive base salary, most Springleaf Financial Services employees are eligible to earn incentive compensation.

 

Internal promotions
 

Our people are our greatest asset and our company culture emphasizes internal promotions. Most members of our branch management team start in the branch manager training program and are promoted up through the management career path, including our current and former executive vice presidents.
 

Employees follow established career paths within the company, and progress through a number of positions within what we call a "job family." For example, an employee who chooses to pursue a career within the administrative path would start as a Customer Account Specialist and then progress to the positions of Senior Customer Account Specialist and Customer Account Administrator.
 

Within the management path, employees follow a similar progression. After starting their careers as a management trainee, employees then move up to the following positions in succession: Assistant Manager, Senior Assistant Manager, Branch Manager, and District Manager.
 

Within each of these career paths is a set of closely-related jobs that involve the same core tasks but differ in performance standards, responsibility levels, decision-making ability and/or work complexity. As a result, each of the jobs in the career paths has different salary grades.
 
 

Career development
 

A wealth of opportunities are available to all employees to enhance their skills and knowledge and to advance their careers within the company. To assist employees in this effort, the company supports a tuition reimbursement program for job-related courses approved by management. Other opportunities include industry seminars and conferences, self-study, professional certifications and e-learning opportunities, as well as guidance for self-development.
