Purpose of Position
Assist peers in articulating recovery goals and learning/practicing new skills, supporting them in their treatment and in advocating for themselves for services. Serve as a mentor to clients to promote hope and personal empowerment. Share personal recovery story to show that recovery is attainable. Exemplify recovery principles for clients. May assist with transportation, groups, behavioral health providers, MRT classes, or care coordinators and reentry specialists. Must comply with all HIPAA regulations and adhere strictly to confidentiality measures.

Qualifications
High school diploma and 1 year of related experience.

Must have passed Kentucky Adult Peer Support Specialist training and received Kentucky certification.

Good data entry skills, ability to exercise discretion, and maintain confidentiality. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
