Purpose of Position
Manage and complete assessment, design, construction, and other tasks for Kentucky Utilities and other stream mitigation projects.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage and conduct assessment of stream type and condition using standard stream bioassessment protocols, surveying, and GPS/GIS mapping techniques; Manage and conduct stream, wetland, and riparian buffer restoration and construction, including earth moving equipment operation and supervision, subcontractor management, sediment and erosion control, native planting, and health and safety; Assemble, maintain, and manage field vehicles, tools, equipment, instruments, computers, software, etc.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in basic sight level surveying, GPS, GIS, employee and subcontractor oversight, construction equipment operation and maintenance, chain saw operation, health and safety program implementation, Excel spreadsheets, and USEPA Rapid bioassessment protocol. Stream restoration experience highly desirable.
