Job Description
To contributes to all aspects of the Center for Integrative Natural Science and Mathematics (CINSAM) mission, vision and values. Responsibilities include but are not limited to general office duties such as: Answering multi-line telephone, filing, copying and typing, routing mail, running errands on campus, database entry, assist with special projects and all other duties as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as a friendly first point of contact for guests and visitors.
  • Assist with daily functions of the CINSAM office, especially clerical tasks.
  • Assist with CINSAM events.
    • Helping set up/tear down.
    • Running the check-in table.
    • A couple events happen on the weekend. Student workers are paid for their time.
  • Prepare CINSAM materials such as correspondence and outreach supplies.
  • Social media management and engagement with stakeholders.
  • Data collection, entry into electronic systems, and documentation for our communication and event efforts.
  • Speaking with prospective students in person and via phone.
  • Website audits (checking sites for broken links, outdated information, etc.)
  • Assist with outreach programming support, e.g. restocking supplies, crafts projects, organizing materials.
  • If possible, help CINSAM establish and maintain databases for various tracking and reporting functions.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Students work approx. 10-25 hours per week. Average weekly hours to be determined before hire.

Federal Student Employment Only.

Desirable traits and qualifications include strong writing skills, ability to think critically and analytically, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, the ability to work independently, a positive attitude, good academic standing, and a willingness to learn.

Any candidate who is offered this position will be required to go through a pre-employment criminal background check as mandated by state law.
