QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in an urban setting
- Master’s Degree in Education or other related field and/or certification in adult education or 2 years of Adult Education experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with standardized assessments for adults, particularly CASAS, GED, NEDP and the Accuplacer (commonly used community college placement exam)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Must be a self-starter and able to multi-task
- Strong computer skills, including Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Demonstrated communication skills
- Demonstrated ability and experience to engage the interest of adult learners
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse adult learners, including those with special needs
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate tests and measurements of achievement
- Demonstrated willingness to be held accountable for student results
- Sensitive to the needs of adult learners and respectful of learner confidentiality
- Experience working with volunteers and consultants
- Strong cultural competency skills, including excellent ability to communicate with a diverse population

Academy of Hope (AoH) Adult Public Charter School was founded in 1985 to serve low-income and at-risk adults in the District of Columbia by providing them the opportunity to improve their basic educational skills, earn high school credentials, and/or prepare for postsecondary education or training.
