Purpose of Position | The School of Computing and Analytics at Northern Kentucky University (NKU) is actively seeking a motivated individual to join our cybersecurity and information technology program as a Lecturer. The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will involve teaching classes related to cybersecurity and system administration. Situated within the College of Informatics, the School of Computing and Analytics encompasses three distinct program areas: Computer Science & Software Engineering, Cybersecurity & Information Technology, and Information Systems & Analytics. With over 35 full-time faculty members, the School offers a comprehensive range of academic degrees, including eight undergraduate programs and three graduate programs, catering to more than 1,100 majors. NKU holds the prestigious designation of being an NSA/DHS National Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education since 2014. This position is specifically available for the 2023-2024 academic year, spanning from August 2023 to May 2024. The selected faculty member will be expected to teach four class sections during each semester. Furthermore, NKU plans to search for a permanent faculty member for the 2024-2025 academic year, and the candidate hired for this position will be encouraged to apply. Primary Responsibilities | Teach a 4-4 load (fall-spring) of Cybersecurity & Information Technology courses. Maintain office hours in line with School policies. Attend required department-wide and college-wide meetings. Participate in course assessment, as needed. Establish and maintain working relationships with a diverse group of staff, students, and faculty. Candidates with expertise in cybersecurity and system administration are encouraged to apply. Qualifications | Applicants for this position are expected to have a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience in cybersecurity or system administration.
