Job Description

Wanted: An experienced Mission Assurance Lead with applicable skills and expertise to support configuration, change, and release management requirements in a large Mission essential environment. Primary responsibilities will include change control, document management, and quality assurance, among others. The Mission Assurance Lead shall comply with TSA policies and processes to manage software and hardware lifecycles to ensure integrity and stability of environments.

A week in the life of a Mission Assurance Lead: 

  • Manage teams to provide Configuration, Change, and Release Management Services that conform to the DHS Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC), the TSA OIT Systems Lifecycle Playbook, and industry standard service management methodologies. 
  • Track all directed Configuration and Change management system through their lifecycle across all locations. 
  • Manage all Change Management/Document Management/ Quality Assurance activities per applicable SOPs. 
  • Support the Government determined production releases from Tier III (Application Development) and from IaC for deployment to applicable environments. 

Experience in facilitating every Change Control Review Board Meetings, to include, but not limited to: 

  • Technical Review Boards (TRB) 
  • Change Review Boards (CRB) 
  • Production Stability Boards (PSB) 
  • Agile ceremonies as defined necessary by the Government 

Experience in Configuration Control:  

  • Create and maintain a change portal for submitting and managing all internal IMO standard, normal, and emergency change requests.  
  • Create the team’s configuration management plan.  
  • Coordinate high volumes of change requests to completion for the Technical Impact Analysis team, Change Control Board (CCB), and Enterprise CCB. 
  • Create the System Change Request (SCR), Forward Schedule of Change, SCR Service Outage Calendar and automate the Google Apps script change request form providing automatic entering of entries into a Google spreadsheet.  
  • Customize Google Apps Script/Javas Script enhanced features (such as conditional email notifications, dynamically created PDF SCRs, option to use digitally signed Common Access Card (CAC) signature and outage notifications for the Helpdesk team).  
  • Software and hardware configuration management.

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. Job Requirements
  • Required: a minimum of 10 years of recent and relevant experience.  
  • Required: an ITIL V4 certification. 
  • Preferred education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business management, information technology management, or a related field. 
  • Domain expertise: Change control, Quality Assurance, ITSM, DevSecOps.  
  • Technical skills: Gitlab and add-on tools, IT Change Management, Rest API; Automation Rules, CMMI for development.  
  • Previous Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel clearance preferred but not required. 
  • Prior experience with and knowledge of TSA’s mission priorities, systems, and applications preferred but not required. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.  Ability to coordinate across large groups of people at multiple levels.
