Job Description

Job Summary

The Certified FDA Medical Technician - CMT II works in the medical field to support medical staff and provide numerous functions to assist in patient care will provide nursing services to employees for protection, promotion, and optimization of health and prevention of illness and injury. The CMT will provide these services in accordance with company policies, practices, procedures, and all applicable regulations to achieve the desired goals and objectives. Assists with all aspects of health services, staffing, competency, processes, customer service, and quality improvement.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Answer phone and schedule appointments
  • Assist with maintaining and updating medical records in the Electronic Medical Record System
  • Scan documents into the Electronic Medical Records System and to maintain a clean and organized clinic
  • Function as a member of the nursing team in providing direct patient care, such as taking vital signs
  • May perform basic laboratory procedures, such as collecting blood specimens, testing specimens and recording results
  • Should be familiar with EKG, audiometry, and spirometry testing equipment
  • Participate in wellness program administration
  • Document all clinical findings, i.e., vital signs, in accordance with clinic guidelines, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Administer treatments, immunizations, and medications as indicated and directed by medical staff
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate equipment, maintenance schedules, clinic inventories
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the quality of services provided in the occupational health units

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate’s Degree in related field
  • American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certification, preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Certification, as required by using agency’s inclusion in the Statement of Work/Performance Work Statement
  • Minimum twelve months experience in respective specialty (Preferred)

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) professional references
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with minimal oversight
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Some local travel may be required
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure, handle stress and deliver professional results
  • Long hours and weekends may be required to meet deliverables
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
