Technical Editor, Mid

Key Role:
Analyze and evaluate products by providing technical editorial support and ensure administrative and production requirements associated with military capabilities, capacity, readiness, military policy, strategy and doctrine and their operating environments are met. Read and evaluate intelligence products and ensure DoD tradecraft standards are met. Identify inconsistencies of thought, development, or organization. Confer with authors to recommend the treatment of the material. Perform reorganizations, cuts, or rewrites, as needed and copy edit.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with technical editing in a government or private environment
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
  • HS diploma or GED and 9+ years of experience with writing or editing, Associate's degree and 7+ years of experience with writing or editing, or Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience with writing or editing

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of DoD intelligence editing standards and styles
  • Knowledge of Community Authorized Classification and Control Markings (CAPCO)
  • Ability to manage multiple publication projects and work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to proofread for grammar and punctuation with a high level of accuracy
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
