GSE seeks a Database Developer to become an integral part of a diverse team of Scientist, Developers, ISSO's, Cloud and Web professionals to provide the design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of the various analytic applications, tools, sensors and hardware that are required to support the Data Analysis Center Threat Evaluation & Reduction (DAC-TER) Branch with the Customs & Border Protection Agency. This position is in Sterling, VA (near Dulles Airport).

A day in the life (a general sampling of the things you may do in a given day):

• Work with a team of physicists and data scientists making tools to support homeland security operations.
• Develop backend procedures for reporting and web services, migrate existing procedures and structures to the cloud.
• Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
• Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
• Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
• Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.

What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):

• BS in Information technology or related field.
• Expertise writing SQL procedures.
• Experience interfacing databases with web and desktop applications, including ORMs.
• Python/SQLAlchemy experience a huge plus.
• Experience with producing data products (data marts, materialized views) for fast application retrieval (web applications, business intelligence applications).
• Active Secret clearance
