School Health Business Manager

Overview
The School Health Business Manager oversees the operation of the department and guides its success by creating an environment sufficient in resources, training, system integration, leadership and supervision for its work force. The Manager will be responsible for coordinating and supporting patient care services to patients in a fiscally effective manner. The manager's key role is to guide the development and execution of Strategic Plan including planning and operations for off-campus facilities, new service development, and capital and operating budget development.
Responsibilities
* Plans and administers, directly or through subordinate supervisory personnel, the effective management and delivery of quality patient care for assigned programs/areas.
* Develops, approves, and monitors staffing, capital and operating budgets in cooperation with appropriate Managers, physicians, supervisors, coordinators, or lead clinicians.
* Promotes continuous improvement by developing and revising standards, implementing appropriate corrective actions to resolve discrepancies, ensuring adherence to continuous performance improvement and ensuring compliance with the Corporate Integrity Program.
* Participates on a variety of committees to achieve coordinated care for services with other departments.
* Remains abreast of developments and trends in areas of responsibility.
* Plans for future programs and facilities.
* Facilitates change management and leads and manages major projects and initiatives such as operational restructuring, new service development and major capital projects.
* Facilitates and recommends annual operating and capital budgets for service line activities. Monitors and administers activity, revenue, expense, and capital budgets for the assigned departments and programs. Analyzes, monitors, and controls allocations for financial, human, and material resources.
Qualifications

Education:
MBA, Master's in Business Administration or MHA, Master's in Health Science, preferred.

Skills:
* Excellent interpersonal skills to provide effective leadership for subordinate personnel, to maintain a variety of internal and external contracts, and to interact effectively with patients, families, physicians, advanced nurse practitioners and other hospital department personnel. * Analytical ability necessary to develop sound policies, procedures and budgets for assigned units.

Experience:
* School or community health experience, preferred.
* Minimum of 2-3 years of practice management experience, preferred.
* Provides evidence of effective experience with budget and personnel oversight.
* Administration and evidence of advanced course work in business administration.
* Experience with practice management preferred.
