Purpose of Position
Directs all aspects of payroll operations including timely and accurate delivery of payroll processes and procedures.

Manages the payroll team including hiring, assigning work, evaluating performance and providing opportunities for staff development and recognition.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Resolve payroll processing issues and respond to employee questions.

  • SAP process management including:
    • overall system functionality
    • updates to tax tables
    • time systems integration

  • Oversee and reconcile the processes for tax returns, W2's and 8233's

  • Plan testing strategies for payroll system modications and new software/hardware installations including SAP processes, updates to tables, taxes, changes to configuration regarding payroll, benefits testing, updates to system, time systems

  • Enhance payroll processing guidelines and create audits that will ensure university disbursements are appropriate

  • Communicate payroll department procedures and policy updates to payroll sta and serve as a liaison to the university community.

  • Provide direct supervision to payroll sta (i.e., hiring/ring, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time o, etc.).
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related payroll experience required.

Ideal candidate is a proactive self starter with great attention to detail.

Experience with SAP and higher education preferred.

Management experience preferred.

Flexible work schedule but requires an on campus presence
