Job Description
Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

We are ready to hire a Lead Systems Engineer for the Total Ship Monitoring System (TSMS) delivered to the United States Navy (USN) Submarine fleet. Our close-knit team is passionate about delivering the best product to the Navy to help protect our country. Our team works closely with the Submarine community to develop solutions that allow the Navy to carry out high-stakes national security missions.


Your Role:

  • Responsible for requirements traceability via the SRVM
  • Works with IPT Leads to prepare system design content in support of design reviews
  • Ensure TSMS requirements are met/managed
  • Ensure TSMS hardware and software aspects are integrated, tested, and verified
  • Responsible for defining and executing detailed work consistent with the program's defined systems engineering process.
  • Identifies customer expectations, allocates requirements, evolves system architectures, integrates disciplines, and integrates, verifies, and validates systems.
  • Test - Plans, organizes, directs, and monitors program test activities
  • Analyzes designs, generates test cases and procedures.
  • Works with Chief Engineer and Hardware Architect to develop SSS to capture performance specifications
  • Travel required to work onsite with the development team at Lockheed Martin Integration facility in Manassas Virginia coordinating with the ARCI/SWFTS community

Required Skills:

  • Strong documentation and self-management skills
  • Strong understanding of the Systems Engineering process
  • Good understanding of Hardware and Software development
  • Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly
  • Initiative to take on assignments and professionally execute tasking with little direction
  • Ability to provide direction to junior systems engineers
  • Highly proficient using Microsoft Office products and requirements management databases
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exercises independent judgment and defines new procedures and practices to improve team performance

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with IBM Rational DOORS or Telelogic DOORS
  • Experience using Jira/Bitbucket/Jenkins tools
  • Experience with Large System Integration in a Navy DOD environment
  • ARCI or SWFTS submarine software development
  • Agile certifications or equivalent experience as Scrum Master or Product Owner
  • Requirements management
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python

Target salary range: USD $102,500.00/Yr. - USD $113,700.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.
