Overview

Quartz is excited to be seeking inquisitive, well-organized, and highly motivated individuals to join our Consulting Analytics Team as a Healthcare Informatics Analyst. The Healthcare Informatics Analyst will be responsible for assisting the company by producing financial, claims, medical management, quality, and risk reporting and analyses to management as requested for the assigned work areas. The positions will also consult with business and clinical area to design, develop, and implement data queries to support reporting and analytics.

  • Starting Salary Range: $65,700 - $76,650 / year
Responsibilities
  • Interpret business requirements and create report outputs from the appropriate tool which meetings the needs of the customer.
  • Create compelling and effective charts, tables, presentations, and other visuals that convey analytic insights and/or results clearly and effectively.
  • Completed comprehensive data analysis and interpret results to support business decisions and corporate strategic objects.
  • Collect, manipulate, and analyze data from multiple sources, draw accurate inferences, and present findings to various levels of staff and collaborate on outcomes.
  • Consult with the business to identify and recommend additional opportunities for data extract and analysis.
  • Test data reports and data structure with other analysts or technical experts, document any variations, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Gather report requirements from business owners and subject matter experts (SMEs). Work to define the business problem and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, or business-related, analytical field required.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience with business intelligence/analytics tools required.
  • Professional healthcare analytic experience, specifically HMO experience, is preferred.
  • Understanding and developing fluency with query tools (BusinessObjects, SAS, SQL Developer, Tableau, QlikView or Milliman MedInsight).
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience in SQL programming and coding is strongly preferred.
  • Experience and demonstrated skill with Excel (pivot tables, link workbooks, plug-ins, formulas, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of healthcare claims payment systems and health industry standard reimbursement methodologies (i.e. Medicare and Medicaid).
  • Basic knowledge of Health Insurance Marketplace and PPACA rules and regulations.
  • Intermediate medical insurance knowledge of codes and acronyms.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and ensure timely delivery of analyses and reports.
  • Ability to be inquisitive, well-organized, highly motivated to resolve issues with an attention to detail.
  • Create strong relationships and provide positive experiences for internal partners.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

This full-time position has the option to work in-person at one of our offices located in Madison, WI or Onalaska, WI, work in a hybrid capacity, or work as a telecommuter. Hardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work from home.
