Description: ATA Aerospace, a Joint Venture of ATA and ASRC Federal Space & Defense, is currently seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join our team for an immediate opening supporting the NASA Godard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD. In this role, the candidate will provide Manufacturing Engineering support for NASA GSFC projects.

Working under very limited supervision, the Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible defining, developing and/or tracking the schedules, procedures and other documents required for instrument assembly, integration, test, (AI&T) transportation, and possible final launch site processing. Areas of accountability include identification, tracking and delivery of AI&T, transportation, and execution and development of final launch processing procedures and other required documentation developed by the project team.
Duties:


*Work with the integrated product team(s) to define, develop and/or track the production of instrument assembly, integration and test (AI&T) of various instrument parts, which may include development of procedures and other documents required for instrument AI&T transportation, and final launch site processing.


*Track and report progress on products, procedures, and documents against schedule and project need dates.


*Work with the integrated product team(s) to define develop and fabricate tools and ground support equipment (GSE) (electrical and mechanical) required for all aspects of the instrument development lifecycle.


*Track and report progress on tool and GSE status against schedule and project need dates.
Qualifications:

*This position requires a minimum of ten [10] years of experience in development, manufacturing, assembly and qualification of aerospace hardware. Knowledge of existing assembly techniques and various Military and Industry specifications. Experience with techniques and procedures for assembly and inspection of aerospace manufactured hardware. A Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent education /experience in an appropriate engineering discipline or related physical science degree.


*Excellent written and oral communication skills.


*Proficiency with Microsoft products such as Project, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.


*Experience reading drawings.


*Experience with NASA integration, test and transportation procedures and requirements.


*Technical team leadership is desired.


*Strong, hands-on experience in hardware development, integration and test is desired.
