Overview

The Parking Attendant is responsible for assisting the public with questions in the parking areas including, but not limited to helping to use the pay-on-foot stations, directions within hospital and conducting minor repairs to equipment. They will also operate gates and parking equipment to alleviate any backups in the parking areas. They may obtain cash from department vault, counting money at end of shift; attending and performing miscellaneous related duties. This position frequently works outside and can be exposed to the elements.

Schedule: 12pm - 8:00pm, Monday - Friday, Full - Time, Benefits Eligible

Responsibilities

1. Assist public within the parking areas.

2. Instructs on the usage of the pay-on-foot stations and pay-in-lane stations.

3. Operates parking equipment.

4. Conduct minor repairs of parking equipment and gates.

5. Coverage of lots, garages, cashier booths when necessary.

6. Collects payment from customers and gives change when necessary.

7. Obtains cash from department vault; places cash in vault when necessary.

8. Performs miscellaneous cleaning and stocking of the parking areas when necessary.

9. Performs duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required

1. High school graduate or equivalent.

2. Experience in assisting and presenting a friendly image to the public.

3. Ability to operate cash register and coin changer.

4. Ability to complete paperwork and balance revenue in a shift.

Minimum Physical Requirements

Standing - Constantly (66-100%)

Finger dexterity - Constantly (67-100%)

Seeing - Constantly (67-100%)
