Purpose of Position
To provide customer service to student, parents, and NKU community pertaining to the application and processing of financial aid as well as provide support in the daily operations of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.
Primary Responsibilities
The following are primary responsibilities:
1. Serve as the frontline customer service representative for the Office of Student Financial Assistance delivering exceptional student service in person, on the telephone and via email
2. Assist students, families and the university community with inquiries related to all aspects of the college financial aid process
3. Maintain the flow of daily walk-in traffic, providing accurate and thorough information in a precise and timely manner.
4. Assist with returning office emails and phone calls.
5. Learn, interpret and adhere to federal financial aid processes and procedures and communicate them to financial aid applicants/recipients to help ensure excellent and accurate customer service.
6. Maintain knowledge of university practices in areas including Admissions, Student Account Services, Student Registration, academic records and course information; must be able to refer students to appropriate areas as needed
7. Utilize the following computer software: SIGMA ProSam, SAP Student Life Cycle Management (SLCM), Perceptive Content; various US Department of Education software systems; Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and Powerpoint.

Qualifications
High school diploma plus two years of experience. One to two years of college level courses and two years experience in modern office practices, procedures and equipment is highly preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Applicants must possess high levels of organizational, customer service skills, and seamless ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Excellent verbal, telephone communication and interpersonal skills are necessary. Must have exceptional attention to detail, ability to multi-task successfully, and work in a fast paced environment. Must show maturity in handling confidential information. Demonstrate an ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and work as part of a team. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel, and Word.
