The Opportunity

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer who possess specialized knowledge in design of electronic circuits. This role will be responsible for designing electronic circuits for high performance in vitro diagnostic devices. Will have responsibility for electronic circuit design, prototype fabrication, assembly, testing and system integration in support of new business development and improving operational efficiencies. This position is located in Rochester, NY and relocation assistance is available. Qualified candidates requiring H1-B or TN sponsorship will be considered. This position is eligible for a $5,000 Sign-on Bonus*.

*Bonus Terms:

* $5,000 sign-on bonus offered to eligible participants hired while the program is in effect.

* Bonuses are paid out after 30 days of employment and are subject to all applicable taxes.

* All other rules governing this program will apply.

The Responsibilities

  • Design electronic circuits for high performance in vitro diagnostic devices which includes prototype fabrication, assembly, testing and system integration.

  • Work with multi-disciplinary project teams.

  • Provide technical leadership in cross-disciplinary teams.

  • Support new business development effort through solution development, customer visits, proposal writing, technical presentations, and demonstrations.

  • Estimate timelines and budget for engineering development efforts.

  • Use expertise to improve operational efficiencies and meet compliance requirements

  • Assist in product root cause investigations, corrective and preventative actions.

The Individual

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience or Master's or Ph.D. with minimum of 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Proven experience designing custom mixed signal circuits for complex electromechanical devices including:

    • Low noise, high speed analog and digital mixed signal design

    • Precision analog sensor interfacing including image sensors, pressure, temperature and humidity sensors

    • A/D and D/A conversion

    • Signal integrity

    • Multi-processor and microcontroller design

    • FPGA and CPLD design

    • User interface controls and displays

    • Power electronics, power supplies, LED driver circuits

    • Motion drive and positioning circuits

    • Real-time monitoring systems and reporting

    • Low power design and high reliability design

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with schematic design and layout tools.

  • Experience with fabrication and assembly of Printed and Flex Circuit Boards, debugging and testing.

  • Knowledge of the OrCAD Schematic Capture, PADS layout tools.

  • Ability to derive board requirements' specification from system level specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in ICTs and functional test fixtures.

  • Embedded software experience.

  • PSPICE or LT SPICE simulation experience.

  • Ability to design for reliability, manufacturability and serviceability.
