Job Description
Analytics Solution Specialist - Rapid Aerospace and Defense Analytics and Reporting
Who You'll Work With
You'll be based in Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, or Washington, D.C. In your role as Knowledge Specialist, you will operate both remotely and on-site as needed in support of teams of McKinsey professionals directly serving clients. You will also be a key element of the Rapid Aerospace and Defense Analytics and Reporting (RADAR) team's proprietary knowledge generation and be responsible for contributing to, building and maintaining the knowledge base that underpin our models and tools. You will help further automate our databases and tools and make them more effective.
What You'll Do
You'll work closely with Rapid Aerospace and Defense Analytics and Reporting (RADAR) Solution leadership and diverse McKinsey resources to develop industry benchmark knowledge products for internal and external clients, and define, set-up, and manage the service delivery processes.
In this role you will work directly with leading aerospace and defense organizations, tackling topics central to the CEO agenda such as pipeline development, R&D planning, operational performance improvement, and investment strategies. As part of the broader industry ecosystem, your efforts will also help some of the world's leading private equity firms identify, understand, and pursue acquisitions & divestiture in this sector.
Working on multiple projects simultaneously, you will be at the core of bridging client business challenges with the RADAR Solution's capabilities. You will independently lead and engage with client representatives and McKinsey consultants in joint problem-solving sessions. You'll drive the process of converting/enriching raw client data sources into data required for the Solution and its defense, space and commercial aviation tools to deliver critical insights to our clients.
You will master the analytics/methodology embedded into the Solution and the data concepts related to the Solution functional and sector domains. By developing a deep understanding of the aerospace and defense domain, you will be able to clearly articulate the benefits of the Solution to clients, both external and internal, and how they are implemented in an organization. You will also lead client adoption by engaging with them in their use of the Solution. This involves helping them with questions they might have regarding the Solution usage or applicability, and demonstrating the ability of the Solution to deliver insights through creation of internal and external publications.
Along the way you will benefit from world-class formal training designed to strengthen your consulting capability and sector knowledge. You will also benefit from extensive on-the-job coaching. As a part of our growing analytics team, you are well positioned for future career options. As the solution grows, the start-up, business development and defense analytics experience you gain will help position you to advance to more senior roles within the firm, or across the defense sector.
