The Center for Injury Research and Policy, located in the Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital, is seeking applicants for a full-time Research Associate position. The Research Associate will work under the direction of Nichole Michaels, PhD, on a CDC-funded research project to implement and evaluate an overdose harm reduction intervention in drug courts. This position requires in-state travel for participant recruitment and retention and other study activities. Some evening and weekend hours are expected.

Responsibilities
    Recruit and retain research participants
  • Follow participant consent and enrollment procedures
  • Implement the overdose harm reduction intervention with fidelity to established protocols
  • Ensure compliance with all IRB and human subjects protocols
  • Collect and manage data and document study procedures
  • Code and analyze data using appropriate quantitative and qualitative procedures
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the research team and study partners
  • Assist with the preparation of scientific publications, reports, and presentations
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Education:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in public health, social work, psychology, or a related field; master's degree preferred

Experience:

  • Experience with human subjects research and/or public health intervention delivery is highly desirable
  • Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout the state
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Must be comfortable working with diverse populations and individuals with substance use disorders
  • Must be able to work independently and with a team
  • Must have strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
