Psychiatric Advanced Prescriber

Job Description
Jefferson County Human Services Outpatient Mental Health and AODA Clinic, seeks a caring and compassionate Psychiatric Advanced Prescriber to provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illness and substance abuse disorders for a complex population with persistent conditions.
To be successful in this position, you will be focusing on the below responsibilities:
Starting salary, based on qualifications/experience upon hire: $91,367 - $109,601
Hours: Full-time with willingness to provide some evening and/or weekend on-call hours.

Qualifications Needed:
To be successful in this position, you will be focusing on the below responsibilities:
- Secure comprehensive health histories, perform, or request special diagnostic and laboratory tests, and interpret test results, perform appropriate physical assessments, and develop comprehensive mental health treatment plans.
- Prescribe medication, report adverse findings to the medical Director and refers appropriately for consultation or specialty medical services.
- Provide direct and/or indirect patient care oriented towards improving or maintaining health and preventing illness.
- Responsible for continuing mental health care of assigned patients and for making appropriate dispositions or referrals and acting as a liaison to other community resources.
- Communicate with clinicians regarding patient status and progress to provide education, guidance, case management, and follow-up, in order to assure continuity of care.

Qualifications Needed:
- Master’s degree in Nursing, preferred with minimum three years’ experience
- Current License as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber through WI Department of safety and professional Services.
- Valid DEA number
- Ability to prescribe psychotropic medications in Wisconsin.
- Wisconsin Registered Nurse through WI Department of Safety and Professional Services.
- Valid Driver’s License
