Job Description

  • Collaborate with product managers, editors, and strategists to transform product concepts and visions into design prototypes & specifications

  • Ability and innate desire to solve all types of design problems and the strategy skills to deliver inspired solutions

  • Conceive, nurture, direct and create conceptually compelling and highly functional product design across all digital forms

  • Apply critical thought to every design ask; listen to and respond to briefs, question where/if there are gaps

  • Accountable for the project design deliverables and quality control

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in design, HCI, or equivalent practical experience

  • 7+ years of professional experience designing websites and web applications.

  • Mastery of best practices in visual design, content strategy, and modular design systems and development

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to clients and internal stakeholders

  • Expertise in Axure, Adobe XD + Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, Invision, Principle and/or other visual design, prototyping, and wireframing tools

  • Proficient in project management tools including JIRA, Smart Sheets, and Google Suite

  • Comfortable editing HTML and CSS (familiarity with Javascript is a plus)

  • Agency, media, or consultancy experience is a plus.

  • Journalism background is a plus.

Competencies:

  • Intriguing body of work that demonstrates exceptional design within a variety of products, digital experiences, and/or services

  • Energized by all design challenges while continually challenging the status quo and keeping user needs front and center

  • Thrive in an entrepreneurial but quickly growing, fast-paced environment, with an agile design and development process.

  • Lead by example - possess high expectations not only for yourself, but also for the team

  • Proven ability to motivate teams, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

  • Active listener, curious, and passionate about problem solving

  • Demonstrate pride in your work and of the brands you partner with

  • Proven successful collaboration with multi-functional teams across different locations

  • Be a leader and partner that encourages and cultivates innovation
