Job Title: Mechanic - (IDA)

Job Summary : EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a Mechanic located in Arlington VA to perform general maintenance and repairs to facility equipment at the IDA sites in Arlington, VA & Washington DC.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Examining machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble, dismantling or partly dismantling machines and performing repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting parts.
    • Responsibilities include replacing broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock and ordering the production of a replacement part by a machine shop or sending the machine to a machine shop for major repairs.
    • Maintenance of site equipment and building structure.
    • Maintenance and repairs of the building systems on the site.
    • Assist with the troubleshooting of equipment on site.
    • Perform preventive maintenance of equipment on site.
    • Institute the corrective action and/or inform his supervisor on any deficiencies found in the course of performing the job.
    • Monitor Subcontractors in their task.
    • Perform other tasks as directed by his Supervisor.

    Qualifications

    • Three (3) or more years experience in maintenance and repairs on Commercial-Industrial building equipment to include but not limited to:

    Chillers Pumps Control Systems

    Air Handlers Cooling Towers Heat Exchangers

    VAV's VFD's

    • Demonstrate the ability to read and understand Blueprints, schematics and specifications.
    • Be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of Chiller Plant Operations.
    • Be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of Building Air Systems.
    • Be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of electrical systems.
    • Must have a valid drivers license.
    • Must have or be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 75 lbs)
    • Prolong, extensive or considerable standing/walking.
    • Push/pull or move/lift equipment, supplies, and/or parts.
    • Manual dexterity and mobility.
    • Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching
