Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative has immediate openings for Journeyman Lineman positions in our Hughesville and Leonardtown locations. The primary functions of this position will be to provide efficient construction, operation and maintenance to all types of conductors, structures, and equipment used in the transmission and distribution systems. This position pays $43.07/hr.
The successful candidate should possess demonstrated experience as a Journeyman Lineman who performs all necessary activities in the construction, maintenance of energized and de-energized overhead and underground distribution lines. Thorough knowledge of electricity, NEC, NESC, OSHA rules, ability to climb, mechanical aptitude, and a valid Class A CDL and current Department of Transportation Medical Examiners Certificate are required.
This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of a Power Line Apprenticeship program and Journeyman's card/certificate.
