Title: Project Manager

PATH is currently recruiting for a Project Manager responsible for managing key internal and external activities determining project success, such as leading development of integrated project plans, developing and tracking schedules and identifying and managing critical risks. While reporting through the Center for Vaccines Innovation and Access (CVIA) Project and Portfolio Management function (PPM), the PM will serve as a project manager for the Respiratory Syncytial Virus, Human Papillomavirus Vaccine Cost of Delivery, and other key projects.

spans every stage of the long and complex process of vaccine research, development, and introduction to make lifesaving vaccines widely available to women, children, and communities across the world. CVIA's current portfolio encompasses more than two dozen vaccines either in development or already in use to protect against 18different diseases, including diarrheal disease, malaria, meningitis, pneumonia, and polio. We work in partnership with national health ministries, pharmaceutical manufacturers, donors, international financing and regulatory organizations, and many others. PATH has led numerous global partnerships, including the award-winning Meningitis Vaccine Project and the , which helped develop the first malaria vaccine candidate recommended for pilot implementation. PATH's work on vaccine development and introduction encompasses activities including discovery, preclinical development, clinical research and development, process development and manufacturing, regulatory and vaccine introduction. Over 25 candidates and vaccines are currently in our portfolio in the following disease areas-Malaria, Enteric and Diarrheal Diseases, Polio, Respiratory Tract Infections and Meningitis, HPV and Vector-borne viral diseases (e.g., Japanese Encephalitis)-and in the cross-cutting area of Maternal Immunization.

• Working with the Project Leader(s) and other project team members to develop overall program strategy, global, cross-functionally integrated work plans, cost estimates, and milestones and annual goals for the
• Develop and track integrated project plans including schedules, cost estimates, resource plans, communication plans, risk mitigation plans, and issue resolution plans.
• Implement and maintain project management tools for planning and tracking projects.
• Develop and maintain high-performing teams in conjunction with Project Leader(s).
• Lead efforts to develop project communications and updates for PATH vaccines leadership and donors.
• Proactively manage changes in project
• Work closely with functional staff and finance staff to forecast and request appropriate allocation of resources to execute project activities and deliverables.
• Coordinate activities with external business partners as applicable.
• Coordinate and contribute to the development of donor reports.
• As assigned, coordinate and contribute to the development of new grant proposals, and the revision of existing proposals.
• Depending on prior experience, the project manager may also contribute to functional and vaccines- wide assignments such as the following:
  • Mentorship and/or management of less experienced Project
  • Improvement of project and portfolio management
  • Meeting management for governance

• A minimum of 5 years of overall biologics or vaccine development experience including at least two years in a project management
• Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in life sciences or relevant engineering discipline. Previous work experience in matrixed organizational structure
• Knowledge of project management, project reporting and risk management
• Certification in project management
• Knowledge and understanding of the product development process for biologics (vaccine-specific experience preferred).
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Strong interpersonal skills including negotiation and conflict
• Ability to work effectively on fast-paced, complex
• Advanced computer skills, including MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Smartsheet strongly desired.
• Functional experience in biologics development (e.g. basic research, CMC, clinical, etc.) a plus.
• 20% or less travel
