Customer Cyber Security Operations Engineer

We're on a search for a Customer Cyber Security Operations Engineer, a tech-savvy, solutions-minded superstar who will assist with things like trend analysis, process improvement, automation, and the development of new detection use cases to help protect Cox's residential and business customers.

You'll report to our Senior Manager of Customer Security and Abuse Operations, while maintaining a high level of awareness and understanding of the threats our internet subscribers face. You'll also create the procedures that help address those threats.

What You'll Do:

As you can imagine, this job will keep you busy with some pretty essential responsibilities. Here's a glimpse at just a few of the primary contributions you will make in this role:
Create Splunk log searches, dashboards, and scheduled reports to help detect and remediate account takeover and other customer security items.
Research and remediate Residential and Cox Business compromises and account takeovers through threat hunting using new and existing Indicators of Compromise (IoCs).
Create, document, and follow detailed operational processes and procedures so you can analyze, escalate, and remediate customer security issues.
Find ways to improve our current processes and procedures.
Keep a watchful eye on current security trends and changes, then you'll correlate them to the needs of our product team.

Who You Are:

As you can imagine, this is one of those jobs that requires some special skills. Here are some of the requirements that will assure you're on track for this opportunity:

  • Where permitted by applicable law, must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to be considered for this U.S. based job. (Reasonable accommodations for medical and religious objections will be considered.)
  • 5+ years of experience working in security solutions, operations, design, development, or deployment.
  • Working knowledge of security solutions and the systems development lifecycle.
  • Strong Splunk or similar skills (two years of experience working with Splunk searches and reporting or the Splunk Core Certified Power User Certification).
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills as well as an ability to research, triage, and communicate risk remediation strategies to leaders and partners alike.

Preferred:

  • Splunk Core Certified Advanced Power User Certification
  • Big four consulting background or Fortune 500 company experience
  • Telecom/Cable industry experience
  • Automation and scripting experience
  • Incident Response, Security Engineering, or SOC experience
  • At least one relevant industry certification - CISSP, CISM, CISA
  • BS/BA in a related discipline required (i.e., Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, etc.)
