What You'll Do
You will help drive major annual compensation processes and support ongoing compensation needs/requests from partners and other functions.
In this role, you will manage compensation communications, processes and policies. You will lead projects, analyses, and create presentations, and manage other team members. You will help drive major annual compensation processes with managers, develop dynamic models, departure analyses, and mobility projections while overseeing the calculation of structural and additional awards, and salary/budget models including quarterly variance. You will identify trends or levers with annual compensation budget, and possible refinements/changes to be discussed further with Partner Compensation managers. You will oversee audit/reconciliation all processes, including creating team timelines, etc. You will train junior members of the team with potential oversight opportunity for more seasoned specialists.
You will also support ongoing compensation needs/requests from partners and other functions. You will conduct partner discussions independently - particularly in complex/difficult cases and directly respond to questions and data analysis requests regarding both McKinsey-wide and partner specific compensation issues, programs and procedures from local office administrators, other departments, country/complex managers and individual partners of the firm. You will also advise individual partners on issues involving their own compensation, mobility considerations, etc. You should have foresight to streamline communications with various firm function teams, and eliminate roadblocks. You will directly support offices, practices, and functions (e.g., office managers, practice leaders, country/complex managers, and individual partners of the firm) on similar issues.
You will manage compensation communications, processes and policies. You will develop ad hoc analyses to support presentations, projections and memos/communications for managers, Legal, partner HR, and the Tax group. You will play an important role in digitization efforts of compensation processes. You will contribute to development and maintenance of policies regarding partner compensation, and distinguishing potential loopholes.
You will support and make recommendations to partner compensation managers and directors by independently providing discussion materials (finished presentation and decks) for firm leadership meetings. You will synthesize analytic findings and share persuasive results often directly with upper management and firm leaders for projects and provide analytical support and thought partnership to director/manager of partner compensation as well as the Compensation Policy Committee (CPC). You will scope and independently driving ambiguous analyses. You will proactively work with relevant stakeholders to understand and address compensation issues, and develop long-term solutions where possible. You will also actively contribute to strategic discussions and initiatives within function
Lastly, you will manage other team members, coach, and assist the manager/director with the professional development of partner compensation analysts.
