Job Description
Communications Editor - UX Development
Who You'll Work With
You'll be part of McKinsey Global Publishing in our office in either London, Amsterdam, Madrid, Sao Paolo, Kuala Lumpur or one of our office in North America (New York, Atlanta, Washington, Chicago) as a core member of the Audience Development & Innovation team. McKinsey Global Publishing is a team of editors, designers, producers, and developers who are responsible for creating and publishing content that supports the firm's reputation and advances the practice of management by helping colleagues create and publish their insights in the form of articles, reports, blogs, videos, podcasts, infographics, email newsletters and other formats.
You will be part of a team that works on what will often be fast-turnaround, bespoke projects that don't fit into existing templates or modules. You will work with other members of the publishing team and with subject matter experts (including senior McKinsey partners and sometimes corporate executives) to create engaging, informative content and experiences for external publication-often on tight deadlines.
What You'll Do
You will be a key part of a team that produces bespoke digital interactive experiences.
These projects require digital capabilities not present in our existing set of templates and modules. You will be responsible for the front-end engineering and bring new content to life partnering with colleagues from publishing, design and product. You will create compelling interactive user experiences that build on McKinsey's premium brand. You will be pulled into projects that other teams don't have capacity for, often with accelerated timelines and that will require the ability to quickly grasp a complex brief, scope build requirements, and implement. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting, debugging application codes and maintaining development and graphic standards throughout the product's interface.
You will practice branded communications and work within a set brand design system governing types of content display and UI patterns. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously in an agile development environment and work in close collaboration with other team members in managing production and project deliverables.
You will come to the job well-versed in new and innovative digital experiences, will learn what is possible within our existing CMS, and continually develop knowledge of what's new within our publishing portfolio-as well as what innovations are being developed by other publishers. Some projects will involve exploration and discovery of new solutions-as well as some rapid prototyping-for handoff to other teams for execution.
