Job Description

Overview

Under the supervision of the Ultrasound Manager and/or Tech Specialist performs a wide variety of technical and professional duties utilizing complex imaging equipment to produce quality Ultrasound exams as requested for subsequent interpretation by the radiologist. All duties are performed in accordance with according departmental and organizational policies and procedures, Promotes service excellence in all interactions as outlined in the Key Behaviors in the YNHH?S Core Success Factors. Additionally, the Sonographer 2 is expected to work independently and assist others, help with daily oversight of operations, is capable of problem solving and take corrective action as necessary, and may be asked to assume responsibility for Ultrasound department operations in the absence of a supervisor. To meet the staffing needs of the department, as necessary, Ultrasound staff may be assigned at any of GH Diagnostic Radiology locations, regardless of your regularly assigned work location. Qualifications

EDUCATION


Required to meet one of the following: Graduate of an accredited CAAEP School of Diagnostic Sonography Graduate of an accredited Allied Health program with an additional requirement of 12 months of full time instruction in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.


EXPERIENCE


Three (3) years of comprehensive ultrasound experience to include advanced imaging techniques Demonstrated above average technical skills and excellent communication skills.


LICENSURE


Sonographer Certification by the appropriate governing body as a sonographer in good standing in one of more ARDMS disciplines. Breast Sonographer ARDMS Breast Certification is required. CPR certification preferred


SPECIAL SKILLS


Proficient in advanced ultrasound imaging techniques, above average knowledge of computer / Pacs applications, demonstrated leadership ability, and good organizational and communication/customer service skills.
