HDR is currently seeking a Facilities Lead and Senior Facility Design Manager to join our Chicago, IL office.

As the Facilities Lead, this individual will be responsible for the Facilities program in the Illinois and Indiana areas. They will be expected to grow the Facilities practice and develop/manage staff involved with the planning, design, and implementation of facilities for a variety of client types such as transit, cities, counties, state and federal agencies. Duties may include:

  • Serving as a senor facilities design manager/project manager for major facility related projects
  • Serve as a client manager for facility related clients
  • Conduct marketing and outreach to a variety of clients
  • Establish/foster teaming relationships with other consulting firms
  • Work with Business/Accounting Managers, Project Controllers and HDR management as needed for both marketing and project delivery
  • Develop marking strategy and business plan for facilities clients in the Illinois and Indiana areas and, where practical, other transit markets, primarily in the United States, where their individual skills, experience and relationships serve our client's needs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field required.
  • 12+ years of experience
  • Experience programming, planning and designing maintenance and operations facilities
  • Must be a strong team leader consensus builder and team player skilled in technical writing communicating and presenting to clients.
  • Effective project management and task management skills
  • Must be able to work with office/corporate leaders to develop strategies for growth, hiring, profitability and employee development.
  • Command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and MS Project)
  • Must be willing to travel periodically for projects/meetings outside of the area


Preferred experience

  • Professional registration as an Engineer/Architect
  • Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
  • Experience working with PACE, CTA, Metra
  • Facility experience with cities/counties/other agencies in Illinois/Indiana area
  • Successful track record winning and delivering projects as a project manager or task leader
  • Knowledge of FTA and Buy America is desired
