Minimum Qualifications:


*One to three years of experience with writing and editing proposals or similar documents
*Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or related major from anaccredited college/university or an equivalent combination of education and experience
*Excellent writing, editing, and grammar skills
*Highly organized; able to manage assignments and ensure milestones are met for multiple proposalsin different phases of development at any one time
*Works well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
*Works independently and makes decisions quickly but willing to seek guidance when necessary
*Has a customer-oriented focus and basic knowledge of the proposal process
*Proficient with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
*Ability to generate simple graphics
*Ability to work an average workweek of 45 hours with extended hours as needed to meet deadlinesand infrequent weekend work may also be required

Scope of Responsibility:

The Proposal Coordinator assists with planning and executing successful proposal responses including writing support and administrative tasks, working collaboratively as part of a small proposal management team and with a range of corporate employees, consultants, and partner companies. The successful candidate must be willing to learn and implement best practices with respect to proposal development processes for a variety of markets including Federal Government, municipalities, schools, universities, and commercial customers. This position is a part of a small team that specializes in proposal development. The Proposal Coordinator reports to the Director of Proposal Management. Assignments may be given by multiple members of the team. Infrequent travel in support of business development activities may be required.

Position Duties:


*Analyze solicitations and develop outlines to inform others of the requirements
*Work with various departments and within corporate databases to research and gather pertinent data and metrics relevant to the proposal; develop narrative or graphics as appropriate to include data within the proposal
* Actively participate in development of proposals including project descriptions, proposal-specific resumes, past performance questionnaires, subcontractor lists, covers and tabs, cover letters, forms, presentations and interview responses, etc.; write section narratives as assigned
* Attend all kickoff and review meetings; be proactive in presenting appropriate information to the team and assisting with the development of strategic win themes and discriminators
* Participate in final submittal production (printing, assembly, shipping) including final electronic versions
* Meet tight deadlines while adhering to quality standards; work extended hours as needed to ensure all milestones are met
* Assist with the overall administrative operations of the department such as ordering bid bonds, inventorying office supplies, creating mailing labels, etc.
* Take full responsibility as assigned for responses to pre-qualification packages, sources sought notices, and less-complex RFQs
* Ensure quality control throughout the proposal process
* Help maintain the corporate library of past efforts for use on future proposals
* Constantly improve the proposal procedures for future bidding opportunities
* Other duties as assigned by Proposal Manager
