West Virginia University School of Medicine Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry and the Office of Student Life are recruiting a psychiatrist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor) to assume a faculty position with clinical responsibilities at both Chestnut Ridge Center and the WVU student mental health clinic - The Carruth Center for Psychological and Psychiatric Services - both in Morgantown, WV. Duties: Responsibilities for this nontenure, assistant professor clinical emphasis track position include various opportunities for outpatient care of both young adults in a college community setting with a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses as well general outpatient psychiatric patients. Additional responsibilities include teaching and supervision of medical students and psychiatry residents, service across both the Main and Health Science Campuses at WVU, and scholarship with opportunities for research. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, it is expected that candidates sustain an outstanding, extramurally supported research program. Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain a West Virginia medical license. Successful candidate must have completed a Psychiatry residency program. Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in Psychiatry. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor ranks, a demonstrated track record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals are required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. The , led by Dr. Ali Rezai, is expanding to include the clinical, research, and academic missions of Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry, among others. The Institute will spearhead efforts to develop innovative solutions for West Virginians and those across the world with neurological and psychiatric conditions ranging from Alzheimer's to Parkinson's; autism to stroke; and paralysis to chronic pain, addictions, and traumatic brain injury.
