TISTA Science and Technology is seeking a Financial Analyst who will work as a liaison between customers and subject matter experts to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements and business processes. The Financial Analyst will support cost accounting, billing, and the budget team as part of the Central Business Office. The support involves working directly with central Business Office staff, cost accountants, budget analysts, and managers to produce: monthly reporting on plan to actuals, variance analysis, performance on cost, billing, and project spend. The analyst will also create ad hoc reports upon request on billing & cost outcomes/trends/anomalies and produce documentation & analysis relevant to the multi-year budgeting process. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic driver of standards and accuracy and will demonstrate a good understanding of best practices for applying accounting & finance principles in a complex organization.

Responsibilities
    Create and maintain budget templates for the organization, coordinate with other team members to support budget consolidation and analysis and support re-forecast processes
  • Provides analysis to support strategic and tactical decision-making, resource allocations, and improvement on billing & cost performance
  • Support the Government in the facilitation of cross-work stream business/financial integration
  • Host weekly Budget meetings, financial analysis meetings, & disseminate Meeting Minutes and track action items
  • Assist the Government to conduct quantitative and qualitative inputs towards budget formulation
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly updates to budget year projections and maintenance of multi-year budget plans
  • Manage budget data calls and other reporting requirements, and prepare and present Budget Briefings for periodic reviews
  • Work closely with the budget, billing, and cost accounting functions to assure accuracy in reporting of outcomes
  • Develop close working relationships with Business office (front office) staff, cost accountants, budget analysts, and various stakeholders and to be viewed as a trusted analyst
  • Maintain up to date documentation of processes and procedures
Qualifications
  • Minimum of five (5) plus years of experience in Accounting and/or Financial Analysis
  • Experience and knowledge of US GAAP based accrual accounting and financial analysis
  • Strong organization skills
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and computer skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced
  • Team-oriented environment with minimal supervision

Education

  • Undergraduate degree from accredited college or university in finance, accounting, or business management related field

Clearance:

  • The ability to pass a Moderate Background Investigation (MBI)
