Position Summary

The Mechanical Engineer will work on projects in support of SSOE's growth in the Glass, and Manufacturing sectors. The ideal candidate will have experience completing engineering and design work in these areas.

The Mechanical Engineer will provide sound, unique, and comprehensive design solutions to complex projects. Will work as part of a multi-disciplined engineering design team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical engineering on glass and mfg. process and utility systems.
  • Perform as a project engineer to assist the lead engineer on projects.
  • Direct designers and sub-contractors to support his/her effort.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines leads on multi-discipline projects to drive the team to a successful project completion.
  • Work closely with clients to understand and facilitate the design and construction of their process.
  • Travel to client facilities for gathering of field data.
  • Travel to client facilities and provide on site technical help working with contractors.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree / RELATED / 6-8
OSHA 10/30-hour Construction Certificate preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Seeking an engineer with 6+ years of experience.
  • Experience in design of air systems, fans, ducting and dampers, Design of combustion systems, and design of cooling water and piping systems is preferred.
  • Experience with hot, saturated and particulate air air plus
  • Experience in machine design or modifications would also be beneficial, but not required.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Self starter and minimal leadership required. Takes initiative.
