Job Description

SUMMARY

The Wisconsin Medical Society (WisMed) is seeking qualified applicants for its Marketing Coordinator position. This role serves an integral function on WisMed Membership and Communications team as the key point person for the marketing efforts of its Insurance and Financial services partners WisMed Assure and WisMed Financial.

Help us move from traditional to next-generation marketing, sales and service by utilizing social media, digital marketing, new insure-tech platforms and your own fresh ideas. 

This position will require ingenuity, creativity and excellent communication skills in the development of relationships both inside the organization and outside with internal agents, outside consultants/vendors and partners. The Marketing Coordinator will be immersed in the unique needs of health care professionals and their employers. Together with a team of highly knowledgeable Professional Liability, Life, Disability, Health and Group Benefits Insurance agents, you will uncover needs and provide solutions. We provide on-the-job training on industry-specific products and services.

The Wisconsin Medical Society, WisMed Assure and WisMed Financial staff are currently working virtually. This position is available for remote working but will require occasional attendance at our Madison offices, when it is safe to do so. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Marketing (Social Media, Email marketing, Website support)
  • Plan, implement and monitor Social Media strategy to increase brand awareness and sales
  • Maintain and execute Social Media Calendar for WisMed Assure and WisMed Financial
  • Track analytics, develop benchmarks and processes to measure and increase engagement from target audience, and to develop strategies with sales teams for continuous improvement
  • Create and/or edit all copy necessary, for various content produced by WisMed Assure and WisMed Financial staff and/or key departments
  • Manage e-newsletters and targeted emails
  • Update and maintain website to remain current

Event planning
  • Identify, develop and execute plans for live and in-person events to enhance brand visibility and awareness

Membership and Communications Department Team Member Support
  • Serve as primary marketing liaison between the Wisconsin Medical Society and its partners WisMed Assure and WisMed Financial
  • Attend applicable internal and external meetings to support the marketing initiatives and coordination between the Society, WisMed Assure and WisMed Financial
  • Update and maintain data to ensure accurate marketing lists
  • Act as a steward of the brand to ensure the integrity of the brand and communications
  • Act as back-up to the various roles on the Marketing and Communications team

 

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent professional experience.
 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field, or equivalent work experience in related field
  • Organizational skills sufficient to plan and manage multiple communications/web projects
  • Knowledge and command of and adaptability to multiple new and emergent social media platforms
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and manage priorities, with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or Association Management System (AMS) software a plus
  • Experience with email marketing software a plus
 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Attendance at events during and outside core daytime hours occasionally required
  • Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record to operate personal vehicle on Society business
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing is required, with or without accommodation
  • Ability to effectively manage through complex interpersonal, political and business situations, as well as the ability to work cooperatively with a wide range of personalities
  • Requires frequent use of personal computer
