As a Hyperbaric Technician in the Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine Center, you will perform diagnostic, therapeutic, and emergency functions for patients of all ages. You will provide care to patients receiving hyperbaric or wound care services.

  • You will collaborate daily with appropriate persons regarding patient schedule
  • You will review patient records prior to treatment
  • You will assist with patient assessment and checklist prior to treatment
  • You will participate with physician and Certified Hyperbaric Technician for daily team and patient updates
  • You will provide and legibly document records and reports in compliance with hospital standards and physician orders
  • You will maintain functional and safe equipment and environment

Experience

  • 5 years of experience in a related area - preferred
  • Previous experience in the clinical services provided by the unit - preferred

  • Previous experience as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) - preferred

  • Previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - preferred

  • Second year nursing student - preferred

Education

  • High school graduate or equivalent

Licenses and Certifications

  • Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification, OR minimum of first year nursing student, OR minimum of 1 year of Patient Care Technician (PCT) experience, OR successful completion of two-week Patient Care Technician (PCT) intensive training program

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
