Jefferson County’s Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) takes pride in their mission to help people achieve their goals by providing them with comprehensive information so they can make informed decisions, and advocate support to ensure that they remain in charge of their lives. As part of this mission, the ADRC has transportation services to ensure access to essentials, such as medical care and grocery shopping, in order to allow older persons and people who may have a disability to live independently in their communities and helps prevent isolation and the possible need for long-term care placement.
In order to keep this beneficial program running, the ADRC is looking for additional part-time van drivers to join the transportation team and take on the following tasks and responsibilities:
Operate county vehicles to provide transportation to elderly and people with disabilities to medical and nutritional services
Provide hands-on assistance to passengers with walking, boarding, and packages as needed
Compile and prepare daily trip statistics
Clean vehicles inside and out
Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle inspections and reports need for repairs
Transport and assist people who are confined to wheelchairs and be able to (after training) perform wheelchair securement in county wheelchair accessible vehicles.
Starting wage: $12.97/hour; 19 hours or less per week
Qualifications Needed:
High school diploma or equivalent
Six months experience
Valid driver’s license
Qualifications Preferred:
One year experience
