Job Summary

Drexel University College of Medicine is seeking 2 full-time outpatient faculty physicians for the Partnership Comprehensive Care Practice, which is a long-standing, multidisciplinary, Ryan White-funded clinic which provides primary and specialty care to 1700 people with HIV in the Philadelphia area. Faculty members participate in patient care, research, and teaching students and other trainees. Board-certified physicians in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with Infectious Diseases or HIV training or experience are encouraged to apply.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Longitudinal care and management of multiple medical conditions including hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, mental illness, and substance use disorders, as well as preventative medicine and risk-reduction counseling for patients living with or at risk for HIV.
  • Work together with medical case managers, behavioral health specialists, nurse, pharmacist, nutritionist, gynecologist, psychiatrist, outreach workers, medical assistants and front desk staff in order to provide comprehensive care at one location.
  • Prescribe ART, PrEP, PEP, and treatment for Hepatitis C and sexually-transmitted infections; order and interpret diagnostic tests; refer to specialists as needed; maintain current medical records and documentation in EPIC.
  • Participate in educational conferences and staff meetings, and serve on other relevant committees.
  • Opportunity to create quality improvement and research projects and to participate in student education.
  • Commitment to learning and delivery of trauma-informed care, and a deep interest in advocating and caring for marginalized communities are essential.

Other Requirements: Must have a current MD or DO license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania upon start of employment.

Education and Experience:

Completion of Residency training and board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, plus either completion of Fellowship training in Infectious Diseases and/or HIV Medicine, or experience treating people living with HIV. The position will be filled at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor commensurate with experience and accomplishments in medical training and clinical care.
