General Summary

Graduate Research Assistants are generally assigned to assist individual faculty members with their research project(s). Candidates may expect majority of duties will relate to faculty research; however, the nature of the assistance can vary and may involve, although not limited to, activities such as:
1. Library Work
2. Proposal Writing
3. Data Gathering
4. Data Analysis
5. Creating and Maintaining Spreadsheets and other documents for record keeping
6. Attending departmental staff meetings when invited/requested - may be virtual or in person
7. Assisting with grading of homework and or exams, taking attendance in classes

Required Qualifications

1. Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook which can be found at http://hr.illinoisstate.edu/downloads/GA_Handbook.pdf
2. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
3. Must be a degree seeking graduate student at Illinois State University

Work Hours

As determined with instructor(s) to which assigned to assist. Work schedule will be set so as to not interfere with GA's own class schedule.
