Education and Experience
Required:
- High School Diploma; AND
- 2 years of experience installing sewer, water and storm drain pipe of all types (PVC, ductile iron, brass, copper, HDPE and concrete).
Equivalent:
- GED; AND
- 2 years of experience installing sewer, water and storm drain pipe of all types (PVC, ductile iron, brass, copper, HDPE and concrete).
Desired:
- English and Spanish bilingual.
- Trench Safety, Competent Person or MSHA & OSHA training.
Knowledge and Skills
Required:
- Knowledgeable and experienced using all types of trench shoring.
- Able to operate efficiently and safely power cut-off saws, grade and pipe lasers, builder/construction levels.
- Possess strong organizational, follow through and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism, strong work ethic, and superior attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment with changing conditions and priorities.
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently inspects the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions, while wearing personal protective equipment.
- The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.
- This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
- This is a safety sensitive position.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the position is very active and the employee is frequently standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, digging, trenching and climbing throughout day.
- Operating heavy equipment and hand tools.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds safely.
Travel Requirements
- Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
- Valid Motor Vehicle Record with no restrictions or suspensions.
- Ability to drive a motorized vehicle
