Chief Estimator - Washington DC

Estimate the most complex and large-scale jobs, ranging from $50 million and above, including conceptual estimates, negotiated bids, budgets, general conditions, systems studies and comparisons, value engineering, subcontractor relations and staying up-to-date on industry developments applicable to estimating. Assist preconstruction with constructability and document reviews, prepare quantity take-offs, and participate in business development activities, presentations and interviews. Oversee a team of up to six Assistant/Estimators, if applicable.


Required Skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills;
  • Highly developed sense of professional ethics;
  • Ability to work on and manage a team, as well as independently;
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and create efficiencies;
  • High attention to detail;
  • Ability to identify project risks and plan/take action as needed;

Required Experience
  • BS or MS in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field;
  • 10 - 15 years' experience in the construction estimating field;
  • Proven track record of estimating for projects $50M+;
  • Proficient in specialized estimating software;
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel;
