Working as a Visual / Interaction Design Intern at Signify is dynamic. You'll be working with a multi disciplinary team of industrial and digital designers, part of a 60+ group of designers spread throughout 3 global studios, working on best-in-class awarded design and with a vibrant brand with a vision for sustainability. Working as a Visual/ Interaction Design Intern at Signify is dynamic. You'll make a big impact by thinking creatively and elevating the interaction design so that it looks, feels and behaves efficient, elegant and compelling. Achieving this goal requires collaboration with other Designers, Researchers, Engineers and Product Managers throughout the design process - from collaborating on interaction designs to translating them into visual design. You safeguard the qualitative implementation according to design intent. While doing so you have the responsibility to raise the cohesiveness and UX throughout our professional portfolio. We're greater together through peer learning in our globally diverse team, with different backgrounds and nationalities.

We are looking for an experienced Visual/Interaction Design Intern to reinforce our product and digital design team. As a Visual/Interaction Designer you have a passion for pixels, motion and prototyping. You make a big impact by thinking creatively and elevating the interaction design so that it looks, feels and behaves efficient, elegant and compelling.

As a Visual / Interaction Design Intern, you will work from January 11th to Jun 25th. These dates are not fixed and can be adjusted. This internship could also lead to a full time at-will position

What you'll do

  • Conceive Visual Interaction Design that (measurably) improves the core workflows of real users and delights them along the way.

  • Design user interfaces, create pixel perfect screens, assets and illustrations and animate micro-interactions for Interact software products. Develop visual mockups, prototypes and documentation that effectively communicate design intent.

  • Make use of and contribute to our design language system, coach junior team members and grow our UX competence.

  • Support UX researchers in conducting studies and effectively apply findings in your work.

What you'll need

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

  • Must attach your portfolio as part of the application process

  • Must possess or currently participating in a Bachelor degree program in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic arts or a related field. Master degree is preferred.

  • Experience in designing mobile (iOS/Android) and web applications.

  • Fluency with industry-standard design tools (Sketch, InVision, Figma, Adobe CS, Flinto, etc.)

  • Ability to create high fidelity interactive prototypes of screen flows that visualize micro-interactions / motion design when relevant.
